Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.

  • All authors have reviewed and approved the submitted manuscript and agree to its submission to this journal.

  •  All ethical declarations required by the journal (e.g., Declaration of Interests, funding information, data availability, AI-use disclosure) have been completed accurately in the submission system.

    All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.

    All tables, figures, and supplementary materials are properly numbered, labeled, and cited in the text.

    Permission has been obtained to publish any third-party material (images, figures, datasets, or other content) included in this submission.

Authors submitting their manuscripts to Photo-Materials and Devices agree to the following conditions:

The copyright for all articles published in this journal remains with the author(s). Upon acceptance of the manuscript, the author(s) provide Photo-Materials and Devices and its publisher with a non-exclusive, global, royalty-free license to publish, reproduce, distribute, and display the work in various formats and media, encompassing both electronic and print formats, for the purpose of scholarly communication.

Authors can choose to publish their article under either an Open Access or Subscription model, in line with the journal's publishing guidelines.

For Open Access articles, the author(s) grant the journal permission to make the final published version freely accessible online, following the stipulations outlined in the journal’s open access licensing policy.

For Subscription-based articles, access to the published version may be restricted to subscribers and authorized users; however, the author(s) retain the right to utilize, share, and archive their work in accordance with the journal's self-archiving and reuse policies.

The author(s) confirm that the submitted manuscript is original, has not been published before, and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. The author(s) also affirm that the work does not violate any existing copyright, intellectual property, or proprietary rights.

Any third-party materials incorporated in the manuscript have been utilized with the necessary permissions and proper credit. The corresponding author confirms that all co-authors have approved the submission and are in agreement with the terms stated above.
